Rhumb lines are supposed to guide you. But they can be overwhelming at the poles where every line of longitude intersect at one point. Although the rhumb lines on Mount and Page’s map are straight, seemingly straightforward lines, they quickly overpower all other information at sea so that you might almost forget you’re looking at a map at all.
