Nez Perce Department of Natural Resources

Through their Department of Natural Resources the Nez Perce are involved in a variety of other environmental restoration programs, including watershed restoration, environmental and waste management, conservation, air quality monitoring, and forest services. The goals include perpetuation of their treaty rights and cultural heritage but ultimately are an attempt to “speak for the land” when others turn away.
