Elizabeth's Royal Seal on this legal document shows the queen enthroned, reminiscent of her father Henry VIII. The Tudor rose and the fleur-de-lys on either side of the throne signify her sovereignty over England and her claim to France. The Latin legend on the seal adds a claim to be queen of Ireland, and shows her adopting her father's title, "Defender of the Faith." On the reverse of the seal is her coat of arms.
