A Brilliant General

During the Peninsula Campaign, Confederate General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson conducted a military operation that confused and disrupted McClellan’s efforts. In response, Lincoln ordered reinforcement troops away from McClellan on three separate occasions to pursue Jackson. Those efforts failed, and many people, including McClellan, criticized Lincoln for meddling in military affairs.
