The English and the Others: A Symposium
Elizabethan England sought to find its national identity in a radically changing world. At the margins of society lived those who were left out of England's prosperous white, Protestant identity. This symposium will illuminate some of these groups and their complex, often misunderstood, role in shaping Elizabethan society. The symposium includes six talks and a panel discussion.
