During the Progress of 1575, Elizabeth spent nineteen days at Kenilworth (Killingworth), the estate of Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester. Her time there was filled with feasting, music, and pageantry, descriptions of which were reported to eager audiences throughout the country.
